Pattaya Photo Guide 1

Since most of my posts include my videos of days spent around Pattaya or elsewhere in Thailand, I wanted to start a Pattaya photo guide but not to show the usual stuff which everybody photographs but to display some funny or quirky sights that may be seen in Chon Buri.

Above were some funny moments on Soi 6 where one of the fashion carts got knocked over by the truck delivering beers just outside Nightwish bar. Another bizarre signpost says ‘Google Show’, while you see many corporate logos misused on t-shirts and can’t understand why they used Google’s logo here.

One other great photo I took was of the ice cream motorcycle in Soi 6, it certainly stands out and is a nice equivalent to the Western ice cream van. Since this blog is a diary including my memoirs of nights out and my favorites bits of Pattaya, I have included my favorite food which is ‘Doot Gai’ translating to ‘Chicken A*s’ and you get 4-5 on a kebab stick.

As you can see from the photo above we have more Thai food, however, this is a type of food most western men say they do not like and I agree. The food in the brown dish is called ‘Papaya Salad’ and it has a very sour taste, it also comes with black crab and is very smelly but all Thai women like it! I also thought I would include the photo of the giant Christmas tree and this was placed outside the entrance of Central festival which is a large shopping on beach road.

Above you can see photos of starfish on Jomtien beach and it is very common to see crabs burrowing in the sand as well as birds chirping in the palm trees at night time. In the other photo is a ceremonial flower arrangement with incense, these are bought on Loy Krathong and the children in the background ask you for 20 Baht to walk into the sea to send the flowers floating. This Thai holiday pays respect to the goddess of the waters.

I also caught these breath-taking photos the the Pattaya tower, in the background you can see Koh Larn island. The tower is the tallest on the East coast of Thailand with a hotel at the base, there are many activities surrounding including the ‘Tower Jump’ that I have talked about in this post here.
