Pattaya Hotel

There are many different types of Pattaya hotel, some luxurious, some family orientated and some budget style for those visiting just for a quick break but whatever you are looking for you do not have to rush into choosing one because it is your first visit to Thailand.

On my first trip to Pattaya in 2011 I was traveling alone as a lot of men do from the West and you might be a little nervous considering the long distance and totally new culture, however when you arrive there are plenty of expats here and most will welcome you for a drink with them. I choose a ‘hotel and flight’ all in one package for the 2 week duration and stayed at the ‘Sunshine Garden Resort’ just next to the Dolphin roundabout in North Pattaya. I must say the hotel was lovely but more for families and had a charge of 100 Baht a night for every guest you invited back.

On my second trip to Pattaya in 2012 I decided to get a flight and hotel package again but you do not have to do this and now I am more familiar with Pattaya I would probably book separate on my next trip. In fact you do not have to stay at a hotel at all because it is easy to rent a condominium for short or long duration’s. I rent a room for only 10,000 baht a month in Jomtien and you can see the various condominiums in the video at the foot of the page.

The second hotel I stayed at before I started renting condominiums was part of the ‘Sawasdee’ chain, I stayed at the ‘Sawasdee Siam’ hotel on Soi Buakhow which is not far from LK Metro and has quite a lot of bars surrounding it. I can’t say I had any complaints about ‘Sawasdee’ because it was a budget hotel and the room was quite pleasant with only the bathroom being a shower and temperamental hot water. It was a little noisy until around 2am in the morning with live band playing across the road so the only thing I would suggest is that its probably not suitable for families with young children.

There are more luxurious hotels in Pattaya at the North end which is a bit more peaceful, these include the A-One hotel, Amari and Holiday documented in the videos above, you can relax at Gullivers Tavarn in the morning for Western style food, sports and a game of pool(also seen in video above).
